Or is it just that all the men I know are totally uninterested in jewellery and think thrift is a cardinal virtue (except - in the case of my dad - when it involves buying a new computer)? I am perfectly happy with my simple gold band, but then I am not very girly. I got a bit of a funny look from the jeweller when I explained that my ring would have to be easy to take off, because otherwise I would scratch it to bits on the metal bar grips when I was weightlifting. He makes jewellery for the shops in the area, and so: wholesale prices. Winner! He was great, and my engagement ring is beautiful, so I would absolutely recommend him.
